Local Web application

Web applications, part of Web sites, are usually developed to be available worldwide, or to a significant segment of Internet. However, Web applications can also be used locally, i.e. being available to either intranet users, or to users/processes of a single computer (server) they are running at.

Local Web applications can be used for development purposes; for simpler to build replacement for GUI applications; also, local availability can be used to perform a number of actions in more secure way (preventing possible exploits by allowing very restricted or indirect access to the application).
