WMI log files

Logging WMI activity is a valuable means to analyze system performance and handle miscellaneous system failures. Prior to Windows Vista WMI was recording its activity to so called service and providers log files; this behavior can be turned off if necessary (on busy systems log files can grow quite substantially).

Starting from Windows Vista, event tracing is used to store WMI-related logs; thus, Event viewer applet may be used to export view and/or discard WMI-related events.
