The number of incoming data frames which were thrown away by the client because they were for a multicast (or group) address upper-layer software didn't want. If this counter indicates that a LEC is being loaded down with an excessive number of unwanted multicasts, one possible solution is to install LECs and LES/BUS pairs with better support for selective multicasting. Frames that are included in this count should not be included in ifInDiscards, so as to avoid setting off false alarms.
