This attribute is used to construct the bridgeId. It forms the first two octets of the bridgeId and the remaining 6 octets are made up of the bridgeMACAddress. The priority also determines the root bridge of the spanning tree topology. Manipulating this attribute might lead to a change in the spanning tree topology.
