SNMP

Simple Network Management Protocol is a de facto Internet standard protocol for managing devices on IP networks. Devices include computers, switches, routers, network printers, modems and a great variety of other devices – in fact, anything able to be connected to an IP network.

Although SNMP is used to both read and modify devices’ parameters, IPHost Network Monitor uses it to obtain data through uniform interfaces, thus allowing to efficiently monitor a number of state parameters of network devices.
