Network topology

A description of network configuration, a layout of location, connection of computers and other elements of a computer network. The following types of network topology are distinguished: “bus”, “ring”, “star”, mixed. In order to describe Network topology the concepts of physical topology and logical topology are used. Physical topology is a description of the method by which network elements will be connected for example, with pieces of cable. Logical topology defines the routes of data transfer in a network. In many cases logical topology directly depends on physical one.
